Texas Independence Day is here for a celebration of the history and legacy of the Lone Star State! Little Texans across the state learn the story of how Texas came to be the great state we love today, from claiming independence from Mexico in 1836 to becoming the 28th state in 1845. With a history as deep as the Palo Duro Canyon, it’s a long journey to uncover the storied past of Texas. The Dallas Farmers Market has grown and flourished right along with our home state, and this Texas Independence Day we’re applauding all the beauty and diversity of our community today! There are endless ways to celebrate Texas Independence Day but some of our favorites are with some Texas-style chili (the only kind, really) and a visit to the great outdoors. We can help you get started with both this weekend in The Shed!
Get your Texas Independence Day chili started right with the Tejas Style Chili mix from Los Primanos, a GO Texan-certified seasoning blend crafter. The origins of Chili may be disputed, but Texas is definitely where it got its soul. Cooking up the perfect pot of chili is a feat that any Texan can hang their hat on, but it’s no simple thing. Jim, owner of Los Primanos, takes the guess work out of seasoning with the perfect blend for your Texas chili.
