Simple Collard Greens
Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 2 Strips of thick-cut bacon (cut into ½” pieces)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced from DFM Grow ‘N Go
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 large bunch collard greens, chopped into ½ strips from Williams Garden
- 1 tsp. white vinegar
- Dash of fresh lemon juice to taste
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil and cut bacon in a large pot over medium-low heat
- Slowly cook bacon until lightly browned, then add garlic and red pepper flakes and cook until fragrant.
- Add collard greens, vinegar, and lemon juice.
- Sautee together until the collards are bright green but not overcooked.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately.
- Add a sunny-side-up farm fresh egg for an extra Clucky New Year!
