It’s Back-To-School time for most of North Texas! There are plenty of ways to pack “farm-to-lunchbox” meals. Farmers markets are the perfect place to get ideas about what you might grow in your home or school garden. According to a study by Cornell University, “school gardening may affect children’s vegetable consumption, including improved recognition of, attitudes toward, preferences for, and willingness to taste vegetables.” While you shop for the week, look for new vegetables to try and then add them your weekly lunchboxes with a favorite dip for an easy “First Day Crudité”. Farmers will be happy to share their secrets to a successful fall garden!
