Autumn has finally (finally!) arrived in full force, and with it comes vibrant orange and yellow marigolds appearing across North Texas just in time for November 1 and Día de Muertos. During the celebration of Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead), ofrendas (altars) are adorned with candles, photos, favorite foods, and these lovely marigolds to honor those who have passed. With their bright colors and distinctive scent, the flowers are believed to help guide the spirits of loved ones back to their welcoming families.
Join us this weekend at the Dallas Farmers Market as we honor all the rich traditions of Día de Muertos through music, dance, and art. Enjoy festive performances, hands-on activities, and stunning Catrina displays that celebrate life and remembrance.
