Ingredients:
- 2 large grapefruits
- 4 tablespoons brown sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- A pinch of salt (optional)
- Honey or maple syrup for drizzling (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat Your Broiler: Set your oven to the broil setting and position a rack about 6 inches below the heat source.
- Prepare the Grapefruit:
- Slice the grapefruits in half crosswise.
- Use a small knife to loosen the segments by cutting around the edges and in between each segment (optional for easier eating).
- Place the grapefruit halves cut-side up on a baking sheet.
- Top with Sugar: Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of brown sugar over each grapefruit half. For extra flavor, sprinkle with cinnamon and a pinch of salt.
- Broil: Place the baking sheet under the broiler and cook for 4-6 minutes, or until the sugar is bubbling and slightly caramelized. Keep a close eye to avoid burning.
- Serve: Let the grapefruit cool for a minute, then drizzle with honey or maple syrup if desired. Serve warm with a spoon.
Enjoy as a sweet and tangy breakfast, snack, or dessert!
