Tamales have a wonderful way of bringing people together. Whether it’s to enjoy their unique taste or because the thought of enjoying something made and literately wrapped in warmth; is like no other. Did you know tamales have been enjoyed for over 5,000 years? Mexico is known as their birthplace and there are now countless variations of tamales across different regions.
Tamales Day is finally here and we know you share in our excitement for the biggest tamal celebration of the year. Our annual Tamales Day will be offering more varieties, flavors and tamal traditions. We love celebrating the differences that unite all of us tamale lovers! Plus this year, the celebration will be not just one day but two! Join us Saturday 12/09 & Sunday 12/10 for all the tamales!
El Mero Mero will be one of the many vendors joining Tamales Day. El Mero Mero is a family-owned-and-operated business located inside The Market building. They have been serving Dallas with delicious tamales since 1984, and pride themselves in using only the highest quality ingredients. We can’t talk about tamales varieties without mentioning Sierra Valley who offers yummy vegan tamales. Sierra Valley is also a family-owned-and-operated small business ran by the Hernandez family, who leaned into vegan cuisine after looking for healthier Mexican food without losing its delicious flavor. The Hernandez family is originally from San Luis Potosi and always dreamed of starting a food business, proving that hard work and dedication plays a big part in having dreams come true.
This isn’t just a grab-n-go, it’s a whole Tamalada! Tamal sales start at 9am until sold out, we will have over 12 varieties of fresh, authentic tamales Saturday + Sunday, don’t be the one to miss out! By the way, Santa Claus heard about Tamales Day and decided to join the fun! Santa will be at the Dallas Farmers ready for pictures Saturday only 11am-3pm! But wait, there’s more! Sunday December 10th we will have a face painter for all your Little Farmers to enjoy from 11am-3pm.
