ROOT VEGGIE TIP

Root Veggie Tip – Did you know that farmers aren’t the only ones who can store root vegetables and keep them fresh longer? Properly storing your root vegetables will keep them crisp for (wait for it…) MONTHS!

Step 1 – Trim off the greens and use them for a fresh recipe – Try carrot top pesto, or sauteed beet greens!

Step 2 – Brush off any soil on the root vegetables but don’t wash them.

Step 3 –  Carrots, Turnips + Parsnips – Store carrots wrapped in a damp towel in your refrigerator crisper drawer. They’ll keep 4 to 6 months! *Radishes will store for up to 1 month.

Beets – Store beets in an open bowl with a damp towel on over the top, but don’t refrigerate. They’ll keep 1 to 3 months!
