DALLAS’ ORIGINAL WATERMELON DAY BRINGS A SLICE OF SUMMER TO THE DALLAS FARMERS MARKET

Nothing says summer in Texas quite like a cold, juicy slice of watermelon! Good Morning Texas gets a preview of Dallas’ Original Watermelon Day, the Dallas Farmers Market’s annual celebration of one of the Lone Star State’s sweetest crops.

The family-friendly event highlights more than 20 varieties of Texas-grown watermelon, giving visitors a chance to discover everything from familiar favorites to unique heirloom varieties while supporting local farmers. The weekend celebration also features live music, kids’ activities, demonstrations, a meet-and-greet with the Watermelon Queen and, of course, a watermelon-eating contest.
