The Dallas Farmers Market is getting Lunar New Year festivities started early this Saturday, January 25th, by welcoming in the Year of the Snake – symbolizing reflection, growth, and personal transformation. It is said that by embracing the Snake’s wisdom, adaptability, and strategic approach, individuals can navigate the coming year with purpose, grace, and precision. But no matter which animal is represented as each new year arrives, Andrea with Nammi shares with us what it’s really all about.

“Lunar New Year is all about celebrating with friends and family, bringing joy, and making memories. It’s gathering together to share a special meal, to wish each other luck and prosperity for the upcoming year.”

Starting as a Dallas-based food truck in 2011, Nammi put a twist on traditional Vietnamese cuisine by fusing flavors and tastes from different cultures using Vietnamese as the foundation upon which to build. Their menu consists of banh mi – a typical Vietnamese street sandwich, Asian style tacos, noodle bowls and rice bowls. Located in the Dallas Farmers Market since 2016, Nammi has found great success by creating unique dishes that surprise and delight.

It is with this intent, as well as the desire to provide a warm gathering meal in celebration of Lunar New Year, that Nammi is featuring their favorite dim sum, (pork steam buns, soup dumplings, shrimp dumplings, and shumai) tapas-style, as brunch items beginning February 1st and lasting the whole month. Come see why their customers return again and again to enjoy Nammi’s take on Vietnamese classics.

“Our goal is to serve in the spirit of sharing and spreading joy, and embrace both our Vietnamese and American cultures. Our menu reflects our spirit well.”

Along with Nammi’s delicious offerings, enjoy a jam packed day of Lunar New Year fun with Story Time, live music, Lion Dances from JL Sports Association, free tasting of Potsticker Soup with Mushrooms & Bok Choy at 2 O’clock Tasting, as well as tons of fun Lunar New Year games with a variety of prizes from Fortune Cat Tea.
