More Than Just A Tree
Few things evoke memories of Christmases past quite like the familiar scent of fresh-cut evergreens filling your home. Embrace that nostalgia this holiday season as Hemingway Hill, a family-owned regenerative farm in Terrell, returns to the Dallas Farmers Market with stunning sustainably grown Christmas trees on November 21 and 22, and November 28 and 29. From charming smaller trees to popular 8.5-foot favorites and showstopping 10- and 12-foot beauties, there’s a perfect fit for every room. Choose from Noble (the longest-lasting), Nordman (the bougie), Fraser (the strongest evergreen scent), and Douglas Fir (the classic), then complete the decking of your halls with beautifully crafted wreaths. Hand-selected with care and put on ice as they travel from Washington state to Texas, these evergreens are the epitome of freshness. And Hemingway Hill makes getting your tree home easy with a DFM drive-up area, a fresh-cut trunk, netting, complimentary rope, and a tree preservative packet that includes pet-safe tree treats to keep your evergreens healthy throughout the season, as well as kettle corn treats for your ride home. Don’t see what will work for your space during your DFM visit? Do not hesitate to reach out to Hemingway Hill Family Farm at (972) 998-3343. They’ll meet you during the week of Thanksgiving with a tree, wreath, and/or garland that works for your needs. Get ahead of the holiday rush and start making spirits bright with a fresh-cut Christmas tree that brings all the sights, scents, and traditions of the season.
Thank You for Your Service
This Saturday, November 7, and Sunday, November 8, the Dallas Farmers Market is celebrating Veterans Day by honoring those who have served with a special thank-you. In recognition of their service and sacrifice, the first 25 veterans each day to visit the Information Booth with valid veteran identification will receive $10 in Shed Bucks for use at any outdoor vendor in The Shed.
The BURDZ-I Foundation, a veteran-founded nonprofit that provides resources, assistance, and community connections for veterans, active-duty service members, and military families, will also host a thank-you card station from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. both days, where visitors can share messages of gratitude. F.A.R.M. (Farmers Assisting Returning Military), a nonprofit that helps veterans find renewed purpose, connection, and opportunity through therapeutic agricultural training, will also be visiting the DFM on Sunday. Stop by their pop-up from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to learn how getting their hands in the soil helps veterans transition to civilian life while strengthening local food systems. Our Kids’ Activity from 10:00 a.m. to noon both Saturday and Sunday will feature an Eagle Hand Stamp Craft, reminding us that freedom isn’t free.
Make sure to stop by The Shed and support these veteran-owned businesses:
- Balmy Tallow – Brandon Hernandez
- Williams Garden – Herbert Williams
- Uncle Alfredo’s Salsa – Al Johnson
Join us for a weekend of Veteran appreciation, community, and meaningful ways to think of and thank those who have served.
