This Watermelon Day, we’re seeing DOUBLE. Our 5th Annual Watermelon Day is back with more watermelon for the whole community! Double-Up on SNAP/EBT produce purchases in celebration of National Farmers Market Week with Dallas County + North Texas Food Bank is doubling watermelon donations straight from Texas Farmers in partnership with Kroger.
There are at least a-melon reasons to celebrate the Texas Watermelon season at the Dallas Farmers Market! Watermelon is the number one annual crop grown in Texas, and over 42,000 acres of Texas farmland are used for its production. In fact, watermelons are one of the main crops for small family farms in Texas. When it comes to supporting local agriculture, watermelon is one of the best crops to choose!
Dallas’ Original Watermelon Day is a free community event supporting Texas agriculture + education, small businesses, and healthy neighborhoods here in the heart of downtown. Keep it Local and join the fun with us on August 5th from 9AM – 5PM!
Don’t miss fresh watermelon by the slice, watermelon carving, watermelon eating contest, live music, face painting, bubble truck, kids crafts + the artisan M.A.D.E. Market alongside our 100+ farmers market vendors in The Shed. See y’all there!
