MATERIALS:

  • Yellow Onion Skins
  • Plant Material (Ideally, easy to lay flat on egg)
  • Sheer Panty Hose
  • Free Range Eggs

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Hard boil your free range eggs and set aside to cool.
  2. Bring 3 cups of water to a rolling boil with yellow onion skins until the water is dark brown. Remove onion skins from the water.
  3. Press plant material such as a cilantro leaf or lavender leaf flatly on egg and wrap with panty hose to hold in place. Tightly tie the hose with the egg inside.
  4. With natural dye water still boiling, submerge wrapped eggs in water and leave for about 10 minutes.
  5. Remove from water and let cool, remove panty hose and plant material.
  6. Enjoy your edible, naturally dyed eggs!
