All the April showers have delivered on their promise as May flowers are flourishing just in time to celebrate mom, and nowhere are the blooms more abundant than at Buttercup Art.
This artisan jewelry business focuses on the preservation of natural elements, such as fresh flowers and butterfly wings. Owner Gracy Fowler is hands-on with the entire process, including growing all the flowers in her own Fort Worth home garden. From cornflower to cosmos to pansies, Gracy carefully harvests, presses, and dries nature’s works of art, then encases the vibrant petals in glass-like epoxy resin, transforming each flower into a one-of-a-kind piece you’re able to wear and treasure forever.
Gracy arrived at the Dallas Farmers Market after being invited to join The Shed by one of our own DFM team members. She has loved being a vendor for the past few years as it has given her a home while still travelling for arts and crafts shows in major cities across the country.
For a Mother’s Day weekend treat, you’ll find Gracy giving a DIY Dried Floral Bookmark Workshop on both Saturday, May 10 (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) and Sunday, May 11 (10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.). For the first 20 visitors who bring their moms to the workshop, mom’s bookmark is free, so come select your own garden goodies to include in a unique bookmark all while creating special memories together.
To check if Buttercup Art, or any other specific vendor is in The Shed on any given weekend, please visit @The Shed Today, found on the Dallas Farmers Market home page, after 9:00 a.m. every Friday.
