Independence Day is the perfect time to celebrate America the Beautiful with free range and grass fed meats from our Texas Ranchers. Learn more about their commitment to the land that we love in our Q + A with JuHa Ranch.
Q: What do you want people to understand about ranching?
A: It’s not all about sitting on the porch, watching the sun go down. Long hours – often sunrise to sunset! Emergencies seem to always happen in the dark. Ranching is a lifestyle that doesn’t make you money rich but offers the opportunity to make your spot on the planet more sustainable.
Q: How has ranching changed since you first started?
A: Meat eaters are becoming more selective in what they choose for their table. Grassfed beef and lamb are a more healthy choice and customers are going that way.
Q: What is our hope for the future of ranching in Texas and the US?
A: The hope is that more ranchers will transition to sustainable and regenerative practices. This planet must be protected for future generations and ranchers can be a part of that process.
Q: What is your advice for someone who hopes to start a ranch in North Texas?
A: Start small and grow with your abilities and talents.
Q: Why is it important to support local agriculture?
A: Many farmers and ranchers are working hard to provide food for their communities. Why not support their efforts by seeking out their products. Consider the carbon footprint everybody!
