Join us at the Dallas Farmers Market this weekend for Community Day – an opportunity to connect with organizations making a real difference in North Texas. Stroll through Pearl Street Plaza to meet local nonprofits and community groups, learn about their missions, and discover meaningful ways to get involved. On Sunday we’re specifically highlighting animal-focused organizations, offering a chance to support those dedicated to the care and well-being of our furry friends.

Saturday, September 6th, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Carter BloodCare – For more than 70 years, Carter BloodCare has been saving lives across North, Central, and East Texas. Stop by to learn more about how your blood and/or financial donations make a difference, as well as how to host a life-saving blood drive.

DUFB Promatoras– The DUFB Promatoras will explain how the DUFB program doubles the value of federal nutrition benefits, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), when used to buy fresh produce. In Texas, SNAP participants get a dollar-for-dollar match, up to $30 a day, when purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables at participating locations like the DFM.

Giving Tree Acres Community Farm – Giving Tree Acres is a not-for-profit farm producing healthy, locally grown foods for underserved communities in DFW. Visit to discover how this organization is on a mission to fight hunger and transform food pantries and schools into havens of health for families across Dallas. Mesquite Police – Come shake the hand of a police officer, grab some swag, and learn how the Mesquite Police Department is dedicated to not only serving but partnering with the community to maintain a safe environment with a high quality of life.

TexPIRG Students / Break Free from Plastic – Since its launch in 2016, more than 13,000 organizations and individual supporters from across the world have joined the movement to demand massive reductions in single-use plastics and push for lasting solutions to the plastic pollution crisis. Learn how to get involved, and how even a few simple steps to reduce your use of plastics can make a difference.

The Bridge – The Bridge is a Homeless Recovery Center for individuals without a home in Dallas County with doors open 24 hours per day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The University of Texas at Dallas – Along with interactive brain trivia and coloring fun, learn how to become part of their current social media intervention study in which adolescents are asked to either limit their screen time for two weeks or attend online workshops about healthy social media use. They are then asked to complete a series of questionnaires, and an in-person lab visit with computer and cognitive tasks. Participants of the study are compensated for their time.

Under One Wing Oasis – Under One Wing Oasis is focused on providing support and care to seniors and veterans through health daily meals, safe housing, community, and weekly activities. Doodle Rock Rescue – Founded in March 2017, Doodle Rock Rescue is on a mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abused, neglected, and abandoned doodles and doodle mixes in need. Hearty Paws – Hearty Paws is a 100% foster-based rescue established in 2024 committed to supporting Great Danes in need. They’re at the DFM to create a brighter future for these gentle giants, and for your pet as well by offering free microchipping. Hearty Paws will scan to check for an existing chip, microchip your pet if they don’t have one, register the chip to YOU, then give you the info you need to keep it updated. It is first come first served, while supplies last, so come by early!

Window to the Wild – Window to the Wild, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit that gives homes to birds in need and provides educational programming all over North Texas, including right here at the DFM.
